Morning Express: Childhood

9 05 2008

We both agreed, MX is really the best shit and our collective mornings would have been alot worse if not for Glenn Ong and F.D.

They were just chatting about someone who smsed in to ask them what’s their favourite breakfast. Yes, they are just trying to food-talk because of the Citibank’s Gourmet Pleasures promotion but it is still an interesting topic. Well, Glenn said 2 Big Breakfasts (when asked what else he would like to go with that, he said a third one) and F.D’s answer was essentially an English breakfast with Rice Crispies because Rice Crispies reminds him of childhood. Glenn also went on to say he likes soft-boiled eggs with pepper, soy sauce and BUTTER. Who puts butter! Apparently that was the way his mum made it and it grew on him.

I found it very interesting that there they are, two grown men who have travelled the world and eaten just about whatever there is to eat in Singapore, but what influences their choice is their childhood. I’m assuming Glenn grew up on MacBreakfasts of course.

Mums out there, be really careful what you feed your kids.
